OUR JUNIOR SECONDARY PHILOSOPHY
Our school motto is “Strength through Integrity”. We are a dynamic, growing and ambitious school seeking to gain the best outcome for each and every student. We value Respect, Responsibility and Cooperation in all we do, and look to achieve this through excellence in innovation and integrity; leadership and community.

The academic and social and emotional needs of our Junior Secondary cohort drive our approach to curriculum delivery to ensure our students grow into resilient and independent thinking adults who are able to meet life’s challenges.

Our students will:
•             Develop problem solving and independent thinking skills;
•             Connect their learning to “real life” through the use of technology and
               innovative curriculum delivery, delivered by specialist teachers;
•             Become active citizens in their local community;
•             Improve their literacy and numeracy skills;
•             Grow as individuals valuing their cultural heritage;
•             Express themselves creatively;
•             Value their worth and their importance in our society.

FOCUS ON EVERY STUDENT

Student Wellbeing
We meet the social and emotional needs of our students with a strong focus on pastoral care. Student well-being is at the forefront of all we do, ensuring positive feelings and attitude, positive relationships at school, resilience and a high level of satisfaction with learning.

Student Leadership
We have a well-established student leadership program with specific roles for students in all year levels. Our tried and tested program works with dedicated teachers and will develop young students to be respectful and responsible young adults.
Our students are given opportunities to take on new challenges, build confidence and mentor others. Leaders form part of the Student Representative Council and have separate and distinct roles on many levels.

FOCUS ON HIGH STANDARDS

A Safe and Supportive Environment
Our Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students is a transparent, clear and structured document, designed to ensure all students are aware of the school’s expectations.
As part of a focus on Schoolwide Positive Behaviour, the school has partnered with Morayfield Shopping Centre to introduce The Summit Club, a rewards program where students are recognised for positive behaviours in and out of class, including exemplary attendance.

Our Junior Secondary team includes year 7 teachers from our coalition primary schools, features of our program:
  • An integrated and engaging curriculum
  • Quality teachers with an understanding of the concerns and needs of our young learners and have a proven ability to foster positive relationships
  • A safe and supportive environment in which your student can grow

Learning
Learning is our central purpose and we set high expectations for our students. Students will engage with a variety of learning experiences, tools and opportunities designed to support their learning.

We have a well-balanced program which emphasises literacy, numeracy, leadership and ethics. We create an atmosphere which promotes self-concepts, where students are encouraged to become more confident, enthusiastic and successful learners.
