NEWS FROM THE BUSINESS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Some lucky Year 12 Accounting students spent Monday (the last day of their holidays!) participating in a photo shoot in the Queen Street Mall. The occasion was to celebrate the funding given by Collection House to the Financial Basics Foundation, an organisation which promotes financial literacy education for school students. Morayfield SHS was one of the first schools to introduce this program over 5 years ago. This important part of the year 8 curriculum is designed to equip students with the financial skills to negotiate a successful pathway through life.
Students are pictured here with Tony Aveling (Managing Director of Collection House) in the vault downstairs at the Bank of Queensland. They were “given” $7000 for props and spent the morning enjoying the cash and working like supermodels! Look out for photos and words in the Courier Mail and on the Financial Basics Foundation web site and promotions.
